Hey, this is something i wrote if you guys wna use it... or edit it! Also, michelle, just use whatever for the marks now. we can get feedback on what to use and what not to use when we present them.

We knew there was an increase in the population of senior citizens. The town of Bowie invited us to their space so we could get a sence of it. When we learned the reason why Bowie had a growing elderly population we saw a beautiful story.

We are college students in Maryland. Our grandparents are apart of a time in America we can only imagine. We look up to our grandparents for sacrificing not for their future but their families. None of us can fathom growing a “Victory Garden” or working in a factory to help a country we live in. None of us can picture sustaining ourselves like that generation did.

We found out that many people from this un- comprehensible era came to Bowie to raise their family. Their kids grew up and went on to do other things. Their grandkids are getting older as well and making their own lives. And although Bowie has changed over the years as well, that special group of people stayed.

Now, everyone is being expected to sustain. The Earth is not in good shape. Neither is our economy. And Bowie is inviting their Senior Citizens to do so as well.

Bowie is giving money to its Senior Citizens to spruce up their houses and make them more energy efficient. This means getting better windows, a new roof, energy efficient supplies, or a new furnace. The homes occupied by senior citizens deserve to be taken care of. Not just by the owners but the community as well. So Bowie can be a little more sustainable.
